Oh, the Places We'll Go! A Dr. Seuss Reading Adventure
Ages: 5–7
Step into a world of silly rhymes, wacky words, unforgettable characters, and wonderfully wild adventures! In this six-week author study, young readers will explore the imaginative books of Dr. Seuss through lively read-alouds, playful word games, and hands-on creative activities. We’ll hunt for rhymes, discover fun new vocabulary, play with sounds, and even try our own storytelling and writing inspired by Seuss’s one-of-a-kind style. Whether we’re puzzling over a tongue twister or dreaming up something delightfully ridiculous, we’ll discover just how much fun language can be!
Learning objectives:
* Explore the books, characters, and storytelling style of a beloved children’s author.
* Build phonics skills through rhyming, wordplay, and listening for sounds.
* Discover new vocabulary and experiment with imaginative language.
* Strengthen early literacy skills through interactive read-alouds and discussion.
* Create original stories, writing, and art inspired by Dr. Seuss.
