A Day in the Life of a Camper
Wilderness Preparedness with Prasad Gadgil
In this hands-on, interactive workshop, students will get a taste of the skills, knowledge, and mindset that experienced campers use to prepare for outdoor adventures. Through practical activities and real-world guidance, they'll learn from an expert and gain confidence in the basics of being a capable, prepared camper.
We're excited to welcome Prasad Gadgil, founder of Midwest Outdoor Skills Training, to lead this workshop. Prasad has more than 15 years of experience as an outdoor educator, guide, and leader and has served as senior faculty for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and NOLS Wilderness Medicine. He is a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (W-EMT) and a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM), and he serves as the Leave No Trace State Advocate for Illinois.
Students will have a unique opportunity to learn directly from a professional whose career is devoted to helping people develop the skills and confidence to safely and responsibly enjoy the outdoors.
