Meet Our Drama & Improv Workshop Instructor!
We are excited to welcome Bryan Kelly, a professional actor, to Harmony for our Oct. 9 Guest Workshop!
Get ready to play, create, and bring characters to life! In this lighthearted, interactive workshop, students will explore the fun of acting through improv games, character challenges, and other playful drama activities. They'll have opportunities to think on their feet, work together, experiment with different characters and emotions, and discover how actors use their voices, bodies, imaginations, and one another to tell a story. No previous acting experience is needed—just a willingness to jump in and have fun!
We're especially excited to welcome Bryan Kelly, a professional actor with years of experience working in television and film, BA in Theater, and experience teaching acting to students, too! His screen credits include appearances in NBC's Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D., the Showtime series Shameless, the Starz series American Gods, and the feature film Stranger Than Fiction, among many other productions. He brings firsthand professional experience in developing characters, working with directors and fellow actors, and bringing stories to life on set—and we're excited for our students to learn from that experience in a fun, age-appropriate setting.
A note for parents: Some of the productions in Bryan's professional résumé are intended for mature audiences and contain adult themes, language, and/or violence. We do not recommend these productions for our students to watch (should you begin Googling his work or acting reel). His professional experience, however, gives him a wonderful perspective to bring to an age-appropriate acting and drama workshop for kids.
