Finding Your Voice: Choir Ensemble
Ages 8-15
What can we say, being in a choir is fun! During each six-week course, choir students will work
on 1-2 pieces that they will perform together at the end-of-quarter showcase. Students can expect
to do vocal warm-ups, learn how the voice works, play rhythm and ear-training games, and, of
course, sing! The only prerequisite for this course is a love of music – no previous music
experience required!
Students should bring a folder and a pencil to each class so they can mark
their music and write down which song sections they should practice each week.
Learning Goals:
Develop foundational vocal skills, including warm-ups, vocal technique, and expressive singing.
Strengthen musical understanding through rhythm, ear training, and ensemble activities.
Collaborate with peers to prepare and perform choral music in a showcase setting.
