This course will be lead by a Licensed Professional Counselor:
Hanna Wright, LPC
Hanna is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) who earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. Hanna previously worked in community mental health, including Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital and Kenneth Young Center. During this time, she worked as a counselor and developed the skills to respond to crises calmly yet efficiently. Hanna is experienced in working with children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with various concerns including anxiety, social anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, depression, suicidal ideation, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. Hanna has a special interest in working with children ages 4-10 y/o to help support their social and emotional growth. Hanna enjoys providing psychoeducation to children and their families to de-mystify mental health and encourage open communication among families.
Hanna believes that the therapeutic rapport between client and counselor is of utmost importance. Working from a person-centered and relationship-based lens, Hanna strives to first build trust with her clients and creates a safe, empathetic space for them to exist. Therapy is not a “one size fits all” solution; Hanna prides herself on being able to work with her clients to determine what approach is best suited for them. Hanna integrates a variety of modalities into her work, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Expressive Therapies like art, music, and play therapy.
When she’s not at work, Hanna enjoys cooking and baking various treats for friends and family. Her interests also include attending musicals, concerts, and singing in a community choir. Her favorite part of the day is having her morning coffee and watching TV with her cat, Jojo. https://centerforemotionalwellnessnorthwest.com/hanna-wright-lpc/
