In this hands-on course, we start each week with a story--a mystery that ends with a question. As a class, we'll explore how we can answer questions & solve these mysteries by using the scientific method.
By the end of six weeks, students will understand the role of observing and asking questions in science, know how to formulate a solid hypothesis, how to design and conduct an experiment with controlled variables, and finally, how to analyze and communicate the results.
We'll do this by working together in an engaging, hands-on way to understand and try out each step of the process until we are ready to design and conduct our own experiments and share the results at our showcase on the final day of class.
If you like science, OR if you think you need a deeper understanding of the foundations of science, this class is perfect for you!
